Kaizer Chiefs faithful came in numbers to the Club’s HQ at Village in Naturena, south of Johannesburg on Friday ahead of the Soweto derby against rivals Orlando Pirates at Soccer City Complex on Saturday, 17 March 2012.

The Supporters coming from all corners of the country were looking as colourful as ever spotting the gold and black. The staffers at Kaizer Chiefs store were the busiest as it was packed with supporters making last minute purchase to the wide range of Club’s official merchandise.

Football Manager Bobby Motaung together with Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung welcomed the supporters on behalf of the Club;

Bobby Motaung said addressing the supporters, “We would like to welcome you to the Village. This is your home. We are delighted that you are here today to support the team on what is a very important assignment on Saturday.

“This is a clear demonstration of the of the love you have for the team. Saturday we have a massive game and the players and everyone here is ready. The rain is the sign that all is well and we are geared up for the task at hand.

“Let us go to Soccer City Complex tomorrow (Saturday) and get behind the team and the Technical Team. When we united as we have always been we make it difficult for opponents to break us on and off the field,” added Motaung.

The supporters had an opportunity to meet and greet members of the first team; Manelisi Sisusa Chairperson of Nyanga Branch expressed his delight about being at the Village; “We are here for the Soweto derby. We are going to beat Orlando Pirates 2-0. That would be a good present for all the supporters.

“It is a tradition for us to come to the Village the day before the game. Most importantly for the branch is that today we were presented with a flag after registering more than 150 members. It is really a proud moment for everyone. We will continue doing our best,” added Sisusa speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday afternoon.

An equally delighted Nikiwe ‘Nikilicious’ Mbeki, Public Relations Officer at Gugulethu Branch said; “It is an awesome experience. I am delighted that almost all the branches from Western Province are here including supporters from other provinces.

“Football Manager, Bobby Motaung welcomed so were branches from Gauteng. We got an opportunity to do some shopping at the Store. We are already buying stuff to wear for our game in Cape Town when Chiefs play against Santos. We encourage all the Kaizer Chiefs card carrying members to buy authentic Club’s merchandise,” she added.

Kick off for the ‘sold out’ game is at 15:30.
