It is the first time the two sides meet this season having met three times last season.
Chiefs go to the game on Saturday having not played any competitive football since the first day of the current month when they travelled to Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to honour a fixture against Platinum Stars.
Despite the lack of action Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic would have been encouraged to see his players in action during the FIFA week. Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane featured in a high profile Nelson Mandela Challenge against Ivory Coast this past weekend while a total of six players featured in what is referred as a ‘Limpopo derby’ when Bafana Bafana took on Zimbabwe in Harare on Tuesday evening.
Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung was in a buoyant mood speaking about the upcoming game.
“The players would have preferred to be playing than having a break but thanks to our Technical Team – the preparations for the upcoming game have gone quite well. The players continued to work at the Village during the break.
We are all aware of the importance of the game against Santos. We are second on the log and our aim is to continue climbing the Absa Premiership table and that means we have to come back with a positive result against a sometimes tricky side.
“Santos is of course not a stranger at Peter Mokaba Stadium as they visited us last season. They will be familiar with the conditions but ours is to focus on our objectives as the team.
“We will once more bank on the supporters to rally behind the team as they have done this season in particular at Peter Mokaba where the support has been tremendous.
The people of Polokwane have made us to feel at home and this is something that we appreciate from the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung and everyone associated with the Club.

“On Saturday, November 19 we are delighted to be at Indian Centre in Polokwane from 11:00 to 15h00. The Supporters Club will continue to activate from the Stadium from 16:00 to 20:15,” added Jessica Motaung.
