Kaizer Chiefs led by Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic touched down at Port Elizabeth airport on Monday afternoon ahead of the Absa Premiership clash against Maritzburg United at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Glamour Boys are high in spirits following a hard fought victory against Platinum Stars on Saturday evening. The win left them on second position with 19 points after nine games, two points behind SuperSport United who are leading with 21 points. Chiefs could go on top of the table if they win on Tuesday evening.

Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung who was already in Port Elizabeth by the time the team touched down told kaizerchiefs.com that the team received a warm welcome from the supporters; “The supporters came in big numbers and got an opportunity to meet and greet the players.

“The fans remain positive about the team and our chances to do well this season. This was clearly demonstrated in Polokwane where our supporters came in numbers and rallied behind the team following our defeat in Rustenburg.

“One of our objectives with ‘meet and greets’ is for the supporters to get an opportunity to meet their favourite players and get an opportunity to talk to them. This has a lot of impact especially on youth that idolizes players like Siphiwe Tshabalala, Jimmy Tau, George Lebese and many others. They also get to meet the Technical Team and take pictures."

Meanwhile Retail Manager, Emmanuel Khumalo has revealed that the Kaizer Chiefs Retail Store at the Village will be open this coming Saturday from 09:30 -13:30.
