The Glamour Boys will welcome TUKS this weekend, Saturday, 13 September 2014, in the ABSA Premiership. The ever intriguing encounter between the Glamour Boys and the Tshwane based TUKS will be a perfect dress rehearsal for the upcoming MTN 8 Cup Derby Final.
The Glamour Boys will be looking at the repeat of a successful August where they went unchallenged in eight games in all competitions. The Glamour Boys played and won eight out of eight in August. We are occupying the top spot on the log and have reached the MTN 8 final.
Chiefs occupy top spot on the log after winning five of five while the visitors will arrive with a record of one win, two draws and two losses in their five games so far, positioned eleventh on the log.
The Amakhosi have vowed to fill up the FNB Stadium this Saturday. We spoke to most our supporters and all have promised to use the TUKS game as a send-off for the Glamour Boys on their way to Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium next week.
A full FNB Stadium this week will be a perfect dress rehearsal and will encourage the players ahead of next week.
The clashes between TUKS and Chiefs have always produced fireworks and closely contested with a goal separating the two sides in the last three league encounters. Head to head:
2012/13:
Chiefs 1-1 Tuks (Lebese; Niang)
Tuks 1-0 Chiefs (Mosadi)
2013/14:
Chiefs 1-0 Tuks (Musona)
Tuks 0-1 Chiefs (Mphela)
With Chiefs firing from all cylinders and their rear guard unwavering, makes the Saturday clash the most anticipated. The on-form Glamour Boys will be inspired by the free scoring Masango, Maluleka, Lebese and Letsholonyane. With Tshabalala and Parker making their steady return to action, the Glamour Boys eye the scalp of the TUKS.
The clash will also mark a return to the domestic league after the FIFA break this week.
The tickets are already selling at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide at a cost of R40. Gates open at 12:00 and game kickoff at 15:00.
