After making a low start during preseason where you came off the bench, you seem to have stepped up the gear and playing some neat football. What would you attribute you early form to?
I think the Technical team should take credit of the way I have been playing. My teammates have also been great allowing me to play my normal game. They helped me to adjust quicker to the set up here at Kaizer Chiefs. I must say though that I have also worked very hard in improving my game. I am not yet where I want to be...I have a lot to offer in this team. I can safely say, I am on a right track.
There have been calls from some fans and section of the media for you to be part of the Bafana Bafana set up...
It is humbling to hear people talking like that...I cannot say I deserve to be in the national team but then people who are watching are the ones who can judge. I see it as an encouragement to work harder here at Chiefs. To me it is Kaizer Chiefs first then Bafana Bafana.
The team lost their home game against Thanda Royal Zulu. How much of a blow was it for the team to lose first game of the season?
We obviously wanted to start on a high note by beating Thanda at Loftus but things did not happen the way we wanted. We have since put that game behind us. We are now focusing on the next game against Maritzburg United. We cannot dwell on what happened at Loftus because there are difficult games coming including Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 Wafa Wafa Final.
Talking about the Mamelodi Sundowns, are you worried that some of your teammates might be thinking about the final and might be cautious in terms of getting injured against Maritzburg
No. Personally the game against Maritzburg United is more important now than the final. Can you imagine what would happen if we can lose against Maritzburg? We will go to the final demoralised but if we win it will auger well with our preparations for the final. This means winning against Maritzburg United is important. We can start thinking about Mamelodi Sundowns after Sunday.
Maritzburg have strengthened their squad and they will certainly be no pushovers at home...
All games are going to be difficult this season. I saw Maritzburg United in flashes during highlights package on the other side they have seen what we can do. They are in a position to plan better but we are prepared for them.
Against Santos, you scored you first goal for the team; you beautiful curler came off the post against Thanda Royal Zulu...
I have set myself a target to score at least 8 goals at least this season. The Coach has been encouraging me to attack and score if I get an opportunity. I think 8 goals is a realistic target but then again, for me the team comes first because I am still expected to defend when we lose the ball.
