Kaizer Chiefs are playing Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in the second leg of the CAF Champions League first round on Sunday evening.
Amakhosi arrived on Thursday afternoon in Casablanca to properly prepare for this important clash.
Besides training and rest, it’s also good for players to relax sometimes and absorb the different cultures in another country.
That’s why most of the squad went on a little tour through the city, including a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco and Africa. Its minaret is the tallest in the world and is 210 metres tall. The mosque stands partly in the Atlantic Ocean.
The local market was also visited.
Raja’s biggest rival in the city of Casablanca is Wydad Casablanca, which is at present on top of the local league, while Chiefs’ opponents are down in eighth position.
Upon seeing the Chiefs players, numerous Wydad fans pledged their full support, saying: “We are behind you tomorrow.”
Chiefs play Raja at the Stade Mohammed V on Sunday evening. Kick-off is at 19:00 (20:00, South African time).
