The Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung has expressed a message of good luck to the Team ahead of the mouth-watering Champions League clash pitting the Amakhosi against the Namibian side, Black Africa on Saturday, 8th February 2014.
Speaking through kaizerchiefs.com the Chairman said; “This is a great opportunity for the players especially those that have not tasted continental glory before let alone tasting continental football. Most of the guys will be playing for the first time in the Champions League since it has been a long time that we have participated in the CAF competitions.
"The guys must draw courage from the fact that we have been there before, as much as we didn’t win the Champions League in the previous two occasions (1993 and 2005), we have participated and we have won the Cup Winners Cup (2001) which is also a continent competition as well. This means if we do well and succeed, it will be the second African glory for us.
"I would like to advise the players to go out there and enjoy themselves. They must not put undue pressure on themselves, as that can work against them. They must know that we are in this game to play for a win but if we don’t win, that will have happened and win or lose is the name of the game.
"The players shouldn’t bother much about what happened last year with Orlando Pirates losing in the final. That’s history; theirs is to focus on their upcoming game.”
The game is taking place at FNB Stadium. Kickoff is at 20:00 and the gates open at 17:00. Tickets are sold for R40 at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets nationwide.
