‘The Chief’ pays tribute to Marikana Branch

The Marikana Branch in Northwest was acknowledged for becoming the lead branch in recruiting new members, overtaking the previous leader Richards Bay branch.



The branch led by their chairperson, Raga Foko had an opportunity to have tea with the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung ahead of the Absa Premiership fixture against Golden Arrows.



‘Chief’ as the Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung is affectionately known paid a glowing tribute to the Marikana branch members for their outstanding work.



“The branch is currently standing at 1009 members and they are leading provincially and nationally having recruited more members than any other branch in the country,” said Motaung speaking to kaizerchiefs.com.



“About 80% of their executives are Gold card members of the new card. Their supporters all have the new 40th anniversary jersey something that is remarkable. They also have CSI programmes and are passionate about giving back to the community.

From the Club’s point of view we are very happy with the way the branch has carried its duties out,” continued the visibly delighted Motaung.



“It was also gratifying that the Executive Chairman took time to have tea with them on Saturday. The Chairman was very impressed with their work ethic and wished them all the best in their future endeavours.

Speaking to their executive committee, they have also indicated that they would avail themselves in terms of sharing their recruitment tactics,” added Motaung.
