“The new jersey is a clear statement,” says Morgan Gould about the new Kaizer Chiefs jersey. “The colours are bold. To wear it you have to be bold and that’s what you need to be when playing for Kaizer Chiefs.”

Amakhosi’s home jersey for the 2015/2016 season has Gold and Black horizontal stripes. The shorts are gold, while the socks will be in gold too.

“The colours are also very traditional,” continues Gould, “as Chiefs have had these colour lines in the past again, winning a lot of trophies in it. We have to respect that. It also means that we have to apply ourselves this season, collecting more trophies.”

It certainly stands out,” concludes Gould about Amakhosi’s stunning new Nike jersey. “It represents a nation of people.”

About the Club’s supporters, the defender adds: “It’s great to see their response to the new jersey. They are happy about it, like we, as players. I really hope our supporters go out and buy our new Nike home jersey, as we would love to see a wave of Gold and Black stripes in the stands at our games.”

The 32-year-old defender is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, which he sustained during the away clash against Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.

“I am still busy doing rehabilitation work,” Gould comments about his progress to full recovery, “although I am already working out on the pitch again, although not as yet with the team.”

The new Kaizer Chiefs home kit is available via the website: www.kcdigistore.com from July 17 (from 12pm). It will be on sale in official retailers from July 23.

The new Nike jersey sells for R799 at the normal retail shops. However, it can be bought for only R750 at the Kaizer Chiefs stores at the Village and Vodacom World (from July 22).

Another advantage for supporters to buy the new Nike jersey at Chiefs’ own stores are the authentic KC jersey numbers, which will be in white.
