Saturday the 26th of February 2011 presents another moment of history in South African football.

The mighty Kaizer Chiefs takes on its erstwhile nemesis, Orlando Pirates in what commonly dubbed as the “the clash of the titans” in a derby to be hosted at the FNB Stadium.

With kick-off set for 15:30, and six days before, a record seventy thousand tickets were sold within a short space of time to demonstrate the significance of such a match in the local football calendar.

The two teams are separated by a measly two-point margin, with Kaizer Chiefs having a game at hand whilst Orlando Pirates enjoys pole position at the apex of the log.

Both teams shared their spoils with their recent opponents to enter the FNB arena with egos that are still intact to set the pitch ablaze with pulsating football.

In anticipating an exciting encounter, Marketing Director; Jessica Motaung said “it has always been exciting to experience the derby because it brings the best out of everybody involved.

Players are usually tensed to outsmart their opponents, whilst officials responsible for the success of the entire event are intent on upstaging their counterparts by staging a well-marketed and organized spectacle.

The derby is thus a must-experience event for anyone who loves football.”

In preparing for the event, Kaizer Chiefs has organised a series of road-shows that will take its Supporter Relations Department to areas like Mabopane, Sebokeng, Tembisa and Southgate Mall in an effort to mobilize its thousands of supporters. In addition, the Marketing Team will embark on an outreach programme for its sponsor VODACOM by visiting its contact centre to interact with employees.

To add to the spectacle, the programme has lined up the cream of South African entertainment industry, the likes of DJ Tokzen, Fisherman, Liquid DEEP and the Award Winning Professor of the imot itshontsh’ imali hit.

Hospitality packages are available for the dapper and more serene supporters that want to enjoy the spectacle from the lush private suites. Please call J.A.K.E Productions at 011 462 8686.
