The Limpopo born made his long awaited debut for the team in January against Maritzburg United in Rustenburg. In that game Punch impressed Kaizer Chiefs faithful with his overall contribution as Chiefs sent Maritzburg packing with a 2-1 defeat.
He was however left behind in the game against Ajax Cape Town as Onismor Bhasera returned from injury.
“I was happy to make my debut against Maritzburg United. The coach explained to me why he left me out and I took that positively,” said Masenamela.
“I have been working hard in improving my game in all aspects. We have been playing friendly games where I have been featuring and that has really helped. I need to work a lot in improving my crosses and power. In the game against Maritzburg I played well but lacked that final pass...I am working on it,”
Masenamela told kaizerchiefs.com that despite the fact that he, Onismor Bhasera and Gordon Gilbert are all competing for the same position, there is a mutual respect between the three.
“We all want to play for sure. We are pushing each other at training but also there is a mutual respect between all of us. We keep on encouraging each other. I will continue learning from both of them and when another opportunity comes I will grab it,” he said adding that he dreams of winning the league and the Nedbank Cup with the Club.
