We are hosting the defending champions Platinum Stars on Sunday the 24th August 2014 at our home, FNB Stadium. Stars will be coming to our own backyard in an attempt to reverse a 2-0 deficit.

Masilela has been on an undisputed early season form, notching two Man of the Match awards in the opening league games already. The roving fullback expressed optimism ahead of the much awaited 2nd Leg encounter. He said,

“First and foremost, every game we play is a different game and we treat each game as such. The 1st Leg game was a different ball game, we will treat the 2nd Leg in the same manner. Also, this is our home tie, playing at home brings a different approach. We cannot afford to lose at home,” commented Masilela.

Chiefs are on five consecutive wins on the trot since the start of the 2014/15 season campaign and Masilela vowed that they want to maintain that record. He said,

“We want to continue with our winning record, but at the same time, we are fully aware that we are playing the defending champions in Stars. The 1st Leg results will not feature in our minds when we walk through the tunnel onto the pitch on Sunday. We will approach the game with the same attitude as we did when we were entering the Royal Bafokeng stadium,” said Masilela.

About the mood in the Team:

“We are winning our games and a win in any event shoots the confidence sky high. The mood in the camp is high and everyone is fired up. All the players want the opportunity to play, but the good thing is the players that are waiting on the side bring positive energy in the team. Competition comes as standard at Chiefs. We know what is expected from us. Before even the Coach mentioned the issue of competition, when a player signs for Chiefs, you know what is expected of you. And we are determined to deliver the goods,” said Masilela.

Tickets are still available for this weekend’s MTN8 semifinal return leg fixtures. The ticket prices are as follows: R80 for the grand stand (Main stand – West Stand) and R40 for the rest of the stadium. Tickets are now on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers countrywide.

Kick-off is at 15h00.
