Doctor Khumalo, currently Club’s under 17 coach was equally pleased to have met Gordon who listened alertly as the Doc ‘offered his medicine’, “I analysed the game between Chiefs and Sundowns during the Telkom (Doctor was during the time attending a SAFA Coaching course where they had to analyse the Kaizer Chiefs vs. Sundowns game as one of their assignments during the course). In overall you did very well considering that it was your first game playing in front of a packed stadium.
You handled the pressure very well and it was only once that you put your foot wrong. You should be proud of that.
Playing in a game of that calibre is different to what you do at training. You need to close your ears, open your eyes and play with your heart” said the player who holds a record of 397 league appearances for the Club.
Gordon revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that when he first arrived in the country back in 1994 the first magazine he bought had the midfield maestro on the cover, “It is a great privilege to meet Doctor Khumalo as he is a living legend of the Kaizer Chiefs Family. It was nice to hear what he had to say about my game.
I was happy with his thoughts and advice. It was a positive feedback.
He also gave me an advice on playing for one of the biggest clubs in the land.
The conversation was the lift I needed as we approach the start of the season. The technical team is working me hard at training to ensure I am ready whenever I am called to do the duty for the Club” said Gordon afterwards.
