CAF Champion League

Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) vs Black Africa (Namibia)

Saturday, 8th February 2014

FNB Stadium

Kickoff 20:00

Coach Baxter said that the encounter between the PSL Champions and their Namibian counterparts holds significance in many ways. He alluded to the clash as one where his charges will go and enjoy themselves at the same time giving a good account of themselves.

"It is the first game in the CAF competition for the Club after a long time. The game itself is important for the Club and the Team will have to deliver tonight. We will continue to rotate the Team as you know with CAF competition and our domestic league fixtures, the Team will be stretched and that will be impossible to run with the same team all the time," said Baxter.

"We will rotate the squad but at the same time make sure that we get maximum output from all the players in the squad. The approach will no doubt be an offensive one. We have to score goals and at the same time keep a clean sheet. We are not taking any chances, the players that will not start will be ready to be called up from the bench when needed," commented Baxter.

"We have a very good squad and a number of our players are internationals. We will give it our and more than 100%. Of course as you will know every journey begins with a first step and most importantly that step must be a good one," continued Baxter.

"For Black Africa they must probably be thinking that this is the cup final for them. We must give them a Johannesburg welcome on the field of play. To the supporters I would like to promise more than 100% coming from the Team. We want to represent the Club and the country very well, no doubt about that," Baxter was talking to kaizerchiefs.com after taking his charges through the polishing touches of their preparations.

Meanwhile the Club' Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung has wished the Team the best of luck for tonight's clash. Messages of encouragement have been pouring in from various quarters representing sports bodies and the broader society.
