CAF Champions League
Black Africa (Namibia) vs Kaizer Chiefs
Saturday, 15 February 2014
Independence Stadium, Windhoek
Kickoff is at 20:00
Coach Stuart Baxter has revealed that he will be paying attention to his defensive half but still he will keep the shape going forward on the attacking half.
Baxter was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after taking his charges through their final preparations at the Independence Stadium, in Namibia, on Friday night.
According to Baxter, tomorrow night Chiefs will play their normal game despite leading Black Africa by 3 - 0.
"We will approach the game as normal. We are not planning to go out there to defend the lead. What we have done is to change the Team around a little bit. We have to pay attention to our defending," said Baxter.
"If we give a good performance at the back, we will go through. So we do not want to change the balance in our attacking play for the sake of defending, that's not our way of playing," commented Baxter.
"The environment is good and the stadium too looks ok. The pitch is not one of the best, it is a bit bumpy but it will be the same for both sets of players," continued Baxter.
"Morgan is ruled out of the game after injuring his ankle in training tonight. We have left a few guys back at home as part of our rotation plan. Some of the players need a rest. A player like Parker needs a bit of resting to avoid a total breakdown. I am happy with the squad. The lads are optimistic and energetic and if they are motivated on the night they will play well. Simphiwe Mtsweni will get a run tomorrow and Jimmy Jambo will get a place on the substitution bench," said Baxter.
Coach Baxter also revealed that in the absence of Captain Itumeleng Khune, Willard Katsande will lead the Team out of the tunnel when the Amakhosi take the pitch tomorrow night.
