CAF Champions League

Kaizer Chiefs vs Liga Desportiva Muçulmana de Maputo

8 March 2014

Zimpeto National Stadium, Mozambique

Kickoff 18:00

"We had another good week in terms of enjoying a few practice sessions. Even though it was raining most of the time, we did have a bit of some training. But of course we missed six of the regular players due to National call ups and Itumeleng Khune is out with an injury," said Baxter referring to the call ups of Bernard Parker, Siphiwe Tshabalala (Bafana Bafana) and Knowledge Musona, Kingston Nkhatha and Willard Katsande (Zimbabwe).

Baxter was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after he took his Team through their paces at the Zimpeto National Stadium,

"The lads worked hard through out this week. We have been working on a different tactical shape. We are focused on the approach to this game, while at the same time working on our play and preparation for when we play away in the next round. We are looking at having a good run on Saturday," commented Baxter.

"In terms of the players we will continue with the rotation process. We will rest some of the players without weakening the Team. We don't want the rotation of players to turn in to a sloppy looking Team," commented Baxter.

Baxter confirmed the one game suspension of Willard Katsande due to two yellow cards in the CAF Champions League.

"We had a solid practice this afternoon at the match venue. The conditions here look more or less like the Durban conditions. The pitch is solid just like Moses Mabhida Stadium pitch. It is humid and hot but the lads will be comfortable to play under this conditions," said Baxter..

"We will approach the game in our way. We have an idea of how they play at home. We will not read much into their past because what they have done in the past was not against Kaizer Chiefs," commented Baxter with supreme confidence.
