CAF Champions League Fixture

2nd Round 1st Leg

Sunday, 23 March 2014

AS Vita Club vs Kaizer Chiefs

(RD Congo) Tata Raphael Stadium

15:30

Coach Stuart Baxter has been here before as Bafana Bafana Coach losing controversially to DRC, in the controversial game that dented South Africa's 2006 World Cup hopes.

About the fixture:

"This is another important game for us. We need to approach all games in the same way. It is a double leg affair which makes this encounter a first half. It is important that we play tactically smart and put our front foot forward,"

Conditions:

"We have done well to keep things in good shape. We have seen the crowd invading the pitch the things that we are not used to in SA. No matter what happens we have to keep our cool and focus on the game,"

The pitch:

The pitch is made out of AstroTurf which changes the game slightly. The long balls become short and can get away from you easier. We are used to a wet grass pitch and that should help us a bit to cope with he pitch,"

The players:

"We have three senior players Gaxa (ill), Khune (injured) and Nkosi (family bereavement) out of this one. The lads that are here are equal to the task,"

AS Vita Club

They are aggressive in all their movements. They pass very quick, play at high tempo and they drop deep. They are certainly a decent Team, especially at home. They have three of their players more dangerous. Their right footed midfielder playing on the left is good. Their big centre back and striker also catch the eye. They chase and hustle for the ball,"

Baxter further told kaizerchiefs .com that his side is playing his cards close to their chest as "all eyes are on us," speaking from the Team base in Gombe, in Kinshasa.
