Kaizer Chiefs will look to consolidate their position on top of the log when they host Mpumalanga Black Aces for an Absa Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 09 April 2014, kick-off at 19h30.

Chiefs suffered their first home defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night.

Coach Baxter was not fazed after Chiefs's final preparation for the much anticipated clash,

"We are throwing the gauntlet on this one. We will continue to work hard.

How many points we take from the remaining games we'll see. We are disappointed by the results but the performance of the lads was good against Sundowns, therefore we will improve on that going forward. The lads are showing the same determination they showed all through this tough season,"

"Aces is a decent Team and we will approach them with due respect like we always do with all our opponents,"

"We are watching Musona until the last minute of selecting the final squad. Otherwise everybody is fit and looking forward to the game,"

The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 52 points from 24 matches.

AmaZayoni are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 37 points from 25 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Aces have met in 29 league matches since 1985. The Amakhosi have 20 wins compared to just four for AmaZayoni, while five matches have been drawn.

Chiefs have won 11 of their 14 home matches against Aces, suffering just two defeats in the process. When the teams met earlier this season the Amakhosi claimed a 1-0 away win thanks to a goal from Parker.
