Ajax Cape Town had the better of Amakhosi the last time the two teams met last weekend at Newlands Stadium with Ajax Cape Town winning the controversial game by 1-0.
Chiefs were again on the losing side on Tuesday in the Absa Premiership against SuperSport United at Super Stadium and will be hoping to turn the tables this weekend if they are to realize their wish to defend the MTN8 cup they won last season.
Young midfielder, Mandla Masango speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday afternoon believes that the Glamour Boys must shrug off the challenge from Ajax Cape Town and proceed to the MTN8 final scheduled for 26 September 2009.
“We need to go out there and fight for each other on Sunday. It is important that we score and concentrate for 90 minutes if we are to win this game. The two loses are something of the past and we are now focusing to the future starting with the game against Ajax Cape Town on Sunday. We have to remain positive,” he said.
Ajax Cape Town have already knocked Orlando Pirates out of the MTN8 but Masango who has earned himself a nickname, “Bullet” is not intimidated at all.
“I only fear God,” he said confidently.
Had he spoken to some of the U-20 teammates including Thulani Serero, “No. I will only talk to them after the game at Orlando on Sunday,” continued Masango.
The U-20 international has shown great form since being given a chance by coach Vladimir Vermezovic, “I am grateful for the opportunity that I have been given by the coach and I am going to continue working hard in contributing to the overall success of the team,” he concluded.
The game, which is expected to draw huge crowds, will kick off at 15h00.
Meanwhile the Club has called on supporters to be tolerant and continue supporting the players and the team following the regrettable scenes at Newlands Stadium last Saturday.
