The Glamour Boys go to the game on a high after an inspirational 4-1 win against Bidvest Wits last week. At the same time Arrows dropped points at home after drawing 1-all against Bloemfontein Celtic. It was Arrows who knocked the Chiefs out of the Telkom Knockout in an embarrassing fashion.
Chiefs on-form winger, Arthur Zwane described the game to kaizerchiefs.com as a ‘war’. “Golden Arrows did not show us any respect when the kicked us out of the Telkom Knockout in October. It is definitely payback time” warned the veteran midfielder who netted a brace against Bidvest Wits last weekend.
“The game is very important to us because if we win then we are back on track as far as the league championship is concerned. It is also important for our fans as we playing at Orlando Stadium,” he said.
Zwane has fond memories of playing at the Mecca of South African Football, “I played there growing up...I played at Orlando Stadium when I was playing in the Chappies Little League and then I played there when I in the Colts. One game that comes to my mind was when I played for my local side against Two For Joy and we lost 1-0. I played as a goalkeeper in that game as our goalkeeper was injured”.
“It was in Orlando where I watched great footballers and giants, Chiefs and Orlando Pirates taking each other on. I am hoping that we can continue on Wednesday night giving people the kind of football they got used to at the stadium,” he concluded.
