Kaizer Chiefs will be looking at registering their first victory of the season when they lock horns with newly promoted Maritzburg United (previously known as Maritzburg Classic) on Sunday, 14 September 2008. The kick off for the game is at 15h30.

The Glamour Boys started the season on a low note losing to Maritzburg United neighbours, Thanda Royal Zulu at home.

Man of the moment, Gert Schalkwyk who was on target against Thanda Royal Zulu believes that the break the team took have done them good, as they were able to reflect on their loss against Thanda Royal Zulu.

“The game against Thanda Royal Zulu was a wake up call to all of us. We now know that there will be no easy games this season. Martitzburg can never be under estimated as they have a good coach in Gordon Igesund and they have assembled a good team for the season.

We have been working hard during the week in improving our finishing and tightening up at the back. We are all confident of things coming together on Sunday” he said.

Chiefs go to the game without the services of Arthur Zwane, Kaizer Motaung Jr and Gerald Sibeko who are all nursing injuries but have been boosted by the return of Onismor Bhasera and Tshepo Bulu. Jose Torrealba is still out serving suspension.
