Head Coach Stuart Baxter was happy with the outcome following his charges advancing to the Last 8 with a solid performance and a convincing 3-0 win over Polokwane City in the Last 16 game played at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, on Saturday, 5 October 2013.

"It was not easy. They battled their way into the game. City played the way we thought they will come at us. We worked hard on our game plan coming here. If we took our chances the score could have been a bigger margin. We had six clear chances that we blazed over the bar and credit to their goalkeeper who made some good saves as well. On a normal day we could have scored two to three of the six chances we created.”

"I want to see us doing the right things even when we are leading 3-0. I was very happy with a number of things. The timing of our movements was particularly pleasing. We don't usually play direct over the defenders but because they squeezed us in the middle we were able to play the ball behind their back row;" said Baxter.

The Amakhosi were knocked out in the first huddle of the same competition last season and Baxter expressed delight at the turn of events.

"We have gone one further than our the last campaign. We are one of the top teams, so we go into a tournament to win. If you are Benfica (Portugal) or Manchester United (England), you enter competitions to win. We went into this game with a clear goal. Winning tonight is a good step;" said the Amakhosi Mentor.”

Chiefs will go into the hat with seven other teams and Baxter knows very well that every opponent wants to beat Chiefs; "We were worried that if we lose we will be faced with a two weeks break due to the Fifa week and the also Last 8 weekend. There is no dream opponent in football;" concluded Baxter.
