Kaizer Chiefs (1) 2 (Nkhatha 4, Musona 72)

Kaizer Chiefs returned from Dobsonville with three valuable points and in the process stretching their record to 8 wins in a row and 5 of those wins coming from the away games. The Amakhosi continued with their habit of beating the Dube Birds when they conquered them in their own backyard on Friday evening.

Coach Baxter was happy with the three points after the game;

"I am pleased to win the Derby game. Swallows were a handful and the game was a tight affair. I was more pleased with our first 15 to 20 minutes. We got off the blocks quickly and got ourselves in good scoring positions," said Baxter.

"At halftime I told the players to be aware of Swallows coming to us and we must not retreat. Swallows had periods where they played well and at high tempo. It was a typical Derby, with both Teams going forward and backward. We knew that as the game progressed they had to gamble and when we scored the second goal I knew we were there," said Baxter.

"Most people keep on referring to last season in terms of the quality of play. Most people forget that Swallows and other teams do not treat us the same way as they treated us last season. I am glad the lads are adapting well to the new challenge," commented Baxter.

"We have now gone 8 victories on the trot. I am pleased as that will give us confidence but my work is to manage the situation. We must not get carried away because if we stop what makes us a handful we will not sustain our momentum," said Baxter.
