Black Africa (0)

Coach Stuart Baxter was upfront to declare to the Media at the Post Match Press Conference , that the selection of his starting line-up was in no way a show of disrespect to Black Africa from Namibia. Baxter also lamented the failure by his side to bury the number of chances they created during the game.

"The players that started the game did not know what to expect from their opponents. They went in there not knowing what sort of game this was going to pan out. I was impressed by our attacking combination play. But once again we missed some good opportunities to score more goals," said Baxter.

"We are rotating our squad at the moment and we had a good number of the regular starting line-up rested tonight. With a group of players getting a rest, several other players gained some game time needed to get them closer to the rest of the squad in terms of match fitness," continued Baxter.

"I am a performance based kind of a Coach. I go away from this game with mixed feelings. We performed better in some areas. We scored three goals which will give us some comfort to play our normal game in the second leg. Scoring three in a game where you played against a closed book was great. We managed to get the result and I am pleased with that," said Baxter.

"We did not select the Team without the regular player because we disrespected our opponents. The opposite was true in this case because we wanted to field a motivated Team with some fresh legs. For example if we didn't rest Katsande in this game there is no other time we will get to rest him. And playing two ball players in front of the back four is better than playing a tired Katsande," said Baxter.

"Sometimes a rotation of players can backfire. In this competition you will never know if the 3 - 0 lead is enough. For us our performances away sometimes had been better than at home, we have to be able to adapt to any conditions we playing in. I am sure we will give a decent performance away from home without any complacency creeping in. The tie is not over yet and we will not go into the 2nd leg reflecting the tie that is over," Baxter was speaking looking ahead of Chiefs's prospects of proceeding to the next round of the Champions League.
