Kaizer Chiefs (0) 2 (Mathoho 53’, Nkhatha 69’)

Golden Arrows 0

Coach Baxter said he was pleased with the result against an organised side like Arrows. Baxter was full of praise for his counterpart Coach Shaun Bartlett despite his side brushing aside the blunt Arrows on Wednesday night.

Overall

"In the 1st half the game was tight. Shaun got his Team organised, they knew what they were doing and we were a little bit off. At halftime I told the guys that we were 10% off. With SuperSport losing 3 - 1 against Maritzburg United at home it shows after the exit from CAF it is not easy to switch it back on."

"We were that 10% off and when the opponents are well drilled, looking for the results that makes the game a tight one,"

Win against Sundowns' Mosimane on Saturday

"It doesn't mean after beating Sundowns I will strut around like a boastful peacock. I want to win and I am paid by Chiefs to win games and win some silverware. It is not a personal prestige to win a game it is for the Club."

The win tonight

"It is a big win. We played and put up a good performance in CAF and this win is important for keeping the momentum on. On Saturday I think we will see a very good game of football. The game against Sundowns would have been more difficult should we have lost tonight."

Katsande, 5th 'Man of the Match' of the current season

"Yes, Katsande is a candidate for the Player of the Season. If he takes his foot off the accelerator he might lose it, he must keep his composure."

Chiefs extended their unbeaten run at home to 26. The win also consolidated Chiefs' league position on top of the log.
