The Kaizer Chiefs Village played host to students from the University of Pretoria who came through to take some valuable lessons from one of the biggest sporting institutions in the continent.

The students led by Football Manager, Kenneth Neluvhalani were welcomed on their arrival by Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung.

Neluvhalani one of the brains behind the development of University of Pretoria (Tuks) as one of the highly regarded institutions to develop talent spoke to kaizerchiefs.com about their visit to the Village.

“These students are doing Sports Science and Sports Management and we thought as part of their development it was important for us to take them to some of the institutions around the country. We could not look further than Kaizer Chiefs.

“I am glad that the Club opened their doors to the students. They got an opportunity today to learn more about practicality of things in sports as at school it’s more theory. It was also important that from a scientific point of view they learn the latest trends.

The students got an opportunity to watch the players being taken through their paces by Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic.

Fitness Coach, Joshua Smith took time to speak to the student about the conditioning fitness programme at Kaizer Chiefs.

They were then off to the Marketing Boardroom where Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung and the Team spoke to them about the marketing concepts.

It was a long day but an exciting one for the students - some of them are already practically involved with some of the university development sides as Managers and Communication Officers.

To cap it all they had an opportunity to have lunch with Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung who wished them all the best in their endeavors.

“It is gratifying for me to have an opportunity to stand before you, the future of this country. I am certain that your visit here did inspire you in a way. Mine is really to take this opportunity and wish you all the best in all that you endeavor in life.

Jarred Uys (19) a first year Sports Science student and already a Manager for the Tuks U17 male side expressed his gratitude to the Club for allowing them to visit the Club.

“It was great and it really opened my eyes to new levels of professionalism and how the football team is run. The presentations both from Marketing and the Fitness Coach were really good and I am sure I speak for my classmates here that this was really worth it.

“We have wanted to come here for a while and I can safely say it was worth the wait. I would like to thank Kaizer Chiefs and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.”
