“They know what to expect when they visit us at the FNB Stadium,” Itumeleng Khune looks ahead to this afternoon’s much anticipated clash against the Eastern Cape based side, Chippa United. “FNB Stadium is our home and we always make an effort to stamp our authority every time we play there.”

Amakhosi and Chippa United have met each other in five league matches since the 2012/13 season with the Glamour Boys winning four and drawing only once.

The two sides meet each other today, Saturday, 21 May, in the last round of the 2015/2016 Absa Premiership season.

“We are grateful for the support we have received during the season,” adds Khune, acknowledging the Amakhosi faithful. “I urge the supporters to come to the stadium in numbers. The message is clear - we want to finish the season on a high note.”

Chiefs have recorded 2-0 and 1-0 victories in their two previous turns as hosts in the corresponding fixtures. Khune, however, doesn’t want to read too much in this: “All what we focus on is preparing for a big match. It is good to see everyone in the team being excited about this fixture.”

The Chilli Boys are placed sixth on the log with 42 points from 29 matches.

“We are aware that they want to consolidate their position in the Top Eight,” Khune says, “but we are on a mission to collect the three points to have a chance to finish third on the log.”

The Amakhosi are presently placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 46 points from 29 matches with Mpumalanga Black Aces lurking behind with a two point deficit.

“I watch all our opponents,” reveals Khune. “It is important to study your opponents. Chippa are a good team and, like all other teams, we will give them the respect they deserve.”

Kick-off for the Chiefs-Chippa clash is at 15:00. Tickets are sold at Computicket & Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide for R40.
