Kaizer Chiefs’ latest retail offer of buying this season’s home jersey for R599 and get a pair of shorts and socks for free is keeping our sales assistants busy.
One of the customers today was Kediemetse Thonkwane from Soweto. “I read about this offer on Chiefs’ Facebook account,” she comments after having just bought the 2016/2017 home jersey.
“It’s such a great special. That’s because you now get Amakhosi’s complete outfit for the price of a jersey.”
Kediemetse, who works for the South African Defence Force, has been a fervent Amakhosi supporter from a young age: “My whole family supports Kaizer Chiefs. I grew up in a home where everybody simply adores the Glamour Boys.”
She was also a vocal supporter at Saturday’s magnificent 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns. “Whenever possible I try to be at the stadium to watch Chiefs play,” Kediemetse reacts, “I love to watch our games live - there is this exceptional atmosphere, which you just don’t get watching TV.”
On the question of who is her favourite Glamour Boy, she answers: “That’s Itumeleng Khune. He’s my home boy, as we are both from the North West.”
Lucky Baloyi, George Lebese and Siphiwe Tshabalala are other players she enjoys watching. “Lucky and George have good tactics, they are brilliant.”

Please note, however, that fans who buy the new jersey can’t choose the colour of the shorts or socks, it will be given to the customers depending on availability of colour and size. Also, the shorts still available are in the sizes small, medium and large.
