Three Changes for Chiefs Against ZESCO in Zambia

It’s Match-Day 3 for Kaizer Chiefs as they head into a crucial TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group D fixture this afternoon against ZESCO United at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola, Zambia.

Both sides are looking for a victory to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage. Chiefs are third and ZESCO are fourth in the group respectively after the first two rounds of matches.

Amakhosi arrived in Zambia buoyed by a midweek league win over Golden Arrows in their first match of 2026, a result that lifted the spirits and boosted confidence in the camp. The team will be carrying that momentum in this afternoon’s continental clash before hosting ZESCO in Durban next week.

Coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have opted for three changes, keeping the squad fresh to deal with the many matches they will be playing in the next few weeks.

In defence, Dillan Solomons comes in for Thabiso Monyane, Mfundo Vilakazi replaces Mduduzi Shabalala in midfield and Glody Lilepo makes way for Khanyiso Mayo up front.

It’s once again a 4-4-2 formation for Amakhosi this afternoon.

The goalkeeper is Brandon Petersen.

His defensive line is made of Aden McCarthy on the left, Inacio Miguel and Zitha Kwinika at the centre. And Solomons on the right.

Lebohang Maboe is in midfield. He will be joined by Pule Mmodi on the left and Siphesihle Ndlovu on the right. Vilakazi will operate behind the attackers.

Flavio Da Silva and Mayo are in attack.

The game will be overseen by referee Noris Aaron Arissol of Seychelles, assisted by compatriot Shaji Padayachy and Ram Babajee of Mauritius. The fourth official is Jean Brandy Stevie Baillache, also from Mauritius.

The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup match between the Glamour Boys and ZESCO United will kick off at 15:00 at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola.

The match will be live on SABC 1 and SuperSport’s Channel 205 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
