Having already twice saw off the challenge from Orlando Pirates this season to snatch away their PSL crown, the Amakhosi will be up against the team who currently head the PSL Standings as well as whose record for the most number of consecutive PSL title Chiefs are trying to equal, namely Sundowns. Chiefs will clash with Brazilians on Wednesday evening the 15th February a day after Valentines day, supporters can be reassured there will be no love shared on this occasion.

For Chiefs the game against Sundowns presents the perfect opportunity to mow down the Brazilians lead at the top of the table, the three-point incentive will be motivation enough for victory. While the team has been going through their paces ahead of the big game, other plans and preparations for the game have also been in full swing. A host of musicians and other entertainment will be laid on for what should be a packed to the rafters FNB Stadium.

Tickets have been on sale at Computicket outlets countrywide for the past fortnight as well as at The Amakhosi Store in Gandhi Square in the Johannesburg CBD, at a cost of just R20. Ticket sales have been progressing at a snails pace and as Thami Mayaluza head of security and logistics for Chiefs explains supporters will do themselves a disservice if they wait until the last minute for tickets. “We are expecting a big crowd on Wednesday because it is a top of the table clash, the club released tickets for sale to the public a while ago and I would like to urge supporters to sometime before the close of work on Tuesday to purchase their tickets” said Mayaluza.

Kick Off Wednesday’s game is at 19h30 and will mark the first encounter between the two teams for the 2005 – 2006 season, Chiefs will face off with Sundowns a week later in the second round PSL tie. On that occasion the Brazilians will host Chiefs at Securicor Loftus and that game is to kick off at 20h00 on the 22nd February.
