Head Coach, Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse has said that the game against Santos on Sunday, 22 April 2012 presents the team with an opportunity to turn the corner following two loses in the hands of Free State Stars (Nedbank Cup) and Maritzburg United in the league.

The former great was entrusted with the responsibility to lead the team following the departure of Vladimir Vermezovic ahead of the Nedbank clash against Free State Stars.

It has not been a smooth sailing for the Mohlakeng born having lost his first two games but speaking to kaizerchiefs.com the soft spoken mentor said his charges will turn the corner this coming weekend.

“The boys have looked sharper in the past couple days and I am pleased with what I have seen at training following the past two defeats. The spirit is high and everyone is exciting about the challenge ahead.

“We are expecting Santos to park the bus in front of goals as they have done in the past couple of seasons but we have been working on a strategy to penetrate such teams. If we score it will open up the game a little bit. They have quite a good team with ball players and we expect a tough game but it is our turn to win now.

Khuse also paid tribute to the Amakhosi faithful who have rallied behind the team despite the past couple of results; “It has been encouraging to see our supporters singing and rallying behind the team.

We are not expecting anything different from Cape Town where we enjoy lot of support. We know that they are going to come in numbers at the airport to welcome the team something that has always lifted the players.

It is pleasing to see our supporters responding in this manner and it shows that we are all in this together and when that happens it makes it very difficult for opponents,” added Khuse.
