The Zimbabwean international is also pleased to go into the end of the year recess with the knowledge that Chiefs are just six points off log leaders SuperSport United and believes that they have the strength to mount a strong challenge for league honours, when PSL action resumes in February.
Strong start
Tinashe has been pleased with the effort put in by his teammates as they clawed their way into the top three positions in the league, it was their ability to win six and draw one of their nine matches that they have played in since the second round of league matches began in late November.
Nengomasha added “Had we been able to collect this many points in the first month of the season we would have been talking a different story at this time, nevertheless the team has worked together towards ensuring that we began strongly in the second round and have managed to do that.
Our aim is to carry on into 2010 and win as many of our remaining six league games as possible; we have the eagerness, confidence and the potential to be able to do just that”.
New Year Revolution
The tough tackling Nengomasha will be putting his legs up and getting some much needed rest until Chiefs resume training on the 4th January, but he is not going to over indulge at the buffet during the festive season.
Of his intention to keep fit during the time away he said, “the coach has given us individual training programmes and I know the guys are disciplined enough to stick to them.
We do not want to put ourselves in a situation whereby we return from the break and it is as though we are starting from scratch all over again, with regards to our fitness.
We have put ourselves in with a good chance of winning the league the less we have to concentrate on getting back into physical shape when we return the better it will be for us, as we will be able to stick to the tactical and technical side of our game”.
