Naturena, the Village was a hype of activity this morning with the Glamour Boys making their steady return to action. Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala, George Maluleka and Siyabonga Nkosi and others were seen arriving at the Village after a deserved offseason break and without further ado the players went straight into the order of the day through the testing programme.

kaizerchiefs.com caught up with Maluleka,

Welcome back George, you look tired but before we get into that, how was the first day at work?

“It was nice to be back at the office and to meet my teammates. Even though we are divided in groups during this period of testing, I was very happy to see some of my teammates today. Just to be at the Village alone is stimulating enough. The day went well, we were doing the dribbling and running tests, mainly we were grilled on our fitness levels. As you can see I am tired but at the same time feeling good about getting back to action,”

Talking about feeling good, you ended the last season on the injury list, isn’t?

“Yes, I was disappointed because I was on song at the time and all of a sudden I was injured. But I was cleared from the injury before we went for the offseason break. Now I am back in full swing and 100% fit to get on with my contribution to the success of the team.”

2014 Brazil is the talk of the sporting world, what are your impressions?

“I am following Brazil and so far I have picked up a lot of things that will help to lift my game to the next level. Germany and Chile are looking good so far. It is too early though to determine the likely winners of the coveted 18 carat gold, 36.8 cm high and weighs 6.1 kg trophy. It is early to judge the performances of the players. It is a long way to go to determine the form of the players.”

We see that you are currently in the running for a place in the starting line-up for the Carling Black Label Cup preseason Derby match?

“I am encouraged by the vote counts. Obviously the voting count makes a player feel good but it doesn’t reflect badly of the other players. It is positive for me and definitely I am looking forward to the Derby. Anytime is tea time when it comes to the Derby. Any Derby game is good for football. The players and supporters alike can’t wait for the 26th of July 2014, the day of the game.”
