Eric ‘Tower’ Mathoho urged his teammates to keep the determination and character the team has shown this season going into the last two games of the year against University of Pretoria and AmaZulu.
The Polokwane born defender was voted as the ‘Man of the Match’ against Orlando Pirates on Saturday for his outstanding performance.
“We showed a lot of character and determination to come back in that game and we should have won it at the end. I felt that all the lads did well and once again we fought for one another,” said Mathoho commenting on the Man of the Match award.
“It was always going to be difficult to come up against Orlando Pirates as they have the same ambitions as us to win the league. They started well but we came back strongly in the second half. I felt that we were tight at the back. We will continue improving and if we do what the Coach asks of us then we will win games.
Kaizer Chiefs who are still on top of the Premiership face University of Pretoria and AmaZulu before the Xmas break; “We need to keep on doing what we have been doing right this season. The two games are very important in our quest to finish the year on a high.
“It is important that we finish the first part of the season the way we started. We would have loved to win the derby but it is now water under the bridge. University of Pretoria is up next and the sooner we return to the winning ways the better,” added Tower.
