Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the release of midfielder William Twala to join Maritzburg United.
Twala joins the Pietermaritzburg-based side on loan until the end of the season.
The winger made six appearances for Chiefs as a substitute this season with the last appearance coming on 30 September 2017 when Amakhosi were edged 2-1 by Baroka FC. Twala replaced Wiseman Meyiwa in that match.
The move of the 27-year-old follows the earlier loan transfer of Lorenzo Gordinho to Bloemfontein Celtic.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi reached a mutual agreement on the termination of goalkeeper Luthando Sixhaso’s contract. Similarly, Michelle Katsvairo was released to join a team of his choice.
To conclude the January transfer window period, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya was promoted to the first team from Chiefs’ youth development structures. The club furthermore signed Leonardo Castro from Mamelodi Sundowns, Kabelo Mahlasela from Bloemfontein Celtic and Siphelele Ntshangase from Baroka FC.
