For Thabiso Ngwenya (15), George Ntlatlane (15) and Xolanie Mpete (7), the 12th May 2008 will be a day they will truly never forget. The trio of kids came to the Chiefs Village as part of the reach for a dream programme and got to watch the Chiefs team training, and were thereafter handed gifts by the Chiefs players, made available to them by reach for a dream.
All three have life threatening conditions despite this they smiled and made the most of the time that was given to them to be away from their care givers, and were revelling in the sun shine mixing with The Amakhosi.
X-Box Life
Chiefs captain Shaun Bartlett and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune handed over the gifts to the kids as Christmas came early for them when they received their wish lists, which included game consoles as well as games. On handing over the gifts to the starry eyed recipients Itumeleng Khune said “this is your chance guys go out and conquer the world even if it is just in a game form. I hope that you guys get as much fun out of these gifts as I get out of my games”.
Ertugral time out
Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral paid homage to the youngsters for their courage as he said “It is always a pleasure for us to spend time with children especially these three guys who look so cheerful bringing happiness to their young lives brings cheer and joy to ours”.
