“It’s a great feeling,” comments Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya about having made the left-back position his own so far this season.
The 21-year-old has started in all four league and cup games. “The technical team and the players have all helped me settle. During the match, Bernard Parker, Daniel Cardoso and Willard Katsande talk to me quite a lot, continuously giving guidance.”
The left-back position was for a number of years Tsepo Masilela’s, but the veteran left Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season. “Tsepo is my role model,” Ntiya-Ntiya says. “He always told me to work hard and be positive. Sibusiso Khumalo also helped a lot.”
Amakhosi played to a one-all draw against Baroka FC on Tuesday night. “We didn’t play our normal football,” the defender reflects.
Ntiya-Ntiya feels positive about Friday evening’s fixture against Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium. “They have a young side that is full of energy, but we will work hard as a team, play our game and grind out a result. We are ready.”
Tickets for the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United are sold via Computicket, Shoprite & Checkers, SuperSave, OK MiniMark (College Road), Maritzburg United Offices (397 Victoria Road) and Just Build (Taylors Halt).
Cost of the ticket is R60 and scholar tickets (under the age of 12) at R20.
