As the Burundian international signed a contract with Chiefs, he and Tsotetsi will now be together again, and will have set their sights on working in tandem just as they did while performing defensive duties during their time together at Cosmos.
Tsotetsi finally got to make his debut for Bafana Bafana during their recent loss to Sierra Leone in a 2010 Fifa World Cup Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying match, and it put an end to Tsotetsi’s agony as we finally got to turn out for his country.
Together again
Tsotetsi and Nahayo’ combined to help Cosmos win their last trophy which was back during the 2005 – 2006 Coca Cola Cup now know as the Telkom KnockOut Cup. Along the way they knocked Chiefs who were then the defending champions out of the competition at the ¼ Final Stage.
A delighted Tsotetsi said to kaizerchiefs.com of his reunion with Nahayo, “Valery is a fantastic player and a great defender he will do well for us and with us he has always looked forward to a challenge and I know the kind of person he is that Valery would not have signed with a team if he did not think he could add value there”. Tsotetsi when asked whether he has had a chance to speak to Nahayo as yet added “I have not had an opportunity to speak to him as yet as I have been with Bafana Bafana over the past month, we will meet up on Monday at training and will starting talking then”.
Bafana Calling
There was also relief etched on the face of Tsotetsi last week when he made his debut for South Africa during their loss to Sierra Leone.
After a number of missed call ups and call ups where he did not feature, Tsotetsi fulfilled his childhood dream of representing his country. He spoke excitedly of his first appearance with Bafana Bafana and explained, “the result might not have been the one we were looking for. On a personal basis it was fantastic to finally get to wear the national team jersey and get out there and finally represent my country. I hope to do so on many more occasions in the next couple of years and if I do well at club level the call ups for my country should continue”.
