“It is two games to go to win and retain our trophy. We’ve started slow but we are moving,” assuSiphiwe Tshabalala in front of a packed media at the MTN 8 Cup Press Conference this afternoon. “We are moving in the right direction.”

“The first leg was a tough and a good game,” says Shabba. “We should have won the game. We showed character by coming back from one goal down. It is a second leg and we know what is expected of us.”

The reigning champions Chiefs will host the second leg of MTN8 at FNB Stadium, on Saturday, 29th August. Kick-off is at 20:15.

“I would like to commend the Club for bringing coach Komphela,” comments Shabba about coach Komphela who has led Chiefs to the semis of the MTN8 Cup and two draws and a win since arriving in Naturena during the offseason, “We are in this together.”

Captain Shabba epitomised Excellence when asked more questions about their working relationship with the coach, “We enjoy working with the coach and he will bring success to the club. The focus is now on the second leg and we promise a good game on Saturday. There’s a lot at stake. To win the trophy we have to go through Celtic. We have seen they can hurt teams.” Celtic brushed Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarterfinals and beat Orlando Pirates in the league midweek.

We encourage the supporters to buy their tickets at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide and fill the stadium as was at the 1st Leg of this MTN8 Cup semifinal. Tickets see for R60 (West Stand) and R40 for the rest of the stadium. Children under 12 years still pay R10 for entry. Parking tickets sell for R20.
