While most of the country continued to experience some unwanted cold weather on Wednesday, a vast number of the soccer-loving public have begun warming up to the fact that the start of the Premier Soccer League is now just a couple of days away.

Many will find further comfort with the thought that Chiefs will be starting their campaign with a red hot encounter on Sunday away to SuperSport in Pretoria (Tshwane), the tonic most fans would have been looking for towards keeping away those winter blues. As every one gets ready for the start of the season, many are hoping it will be a season noted for many great matches and many more happy returns for Chiefs.

One of The Amakhosi’s early road trips of the season which sees them reacquainting themselves with former Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral who recently took over at the helm of Ajax Cape Town will be played 962 km away from the Mother City.

The match which was originally scheduled to be played at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town was moved to the Green Point Stadium, as Newlands was unavailable. It has now come to light that Green Point, too, will not be available on the given dates which has meant that the game had to be moved elsewhere and the home team have opted to play the game at the ABSA Stadium in Kimberley.

The date of the game remains unchanged as the 17th September 2006, the match will kick off ½ hour an hour later and will now start at 15h30 instead of 15h00.
