As the PSL and sponsors Telkom took club representatives and members of the media on a tour of the Foneworx offices in Randburg, to get a first hand view of the voting process.
The media and club representative were afforded a final opportunity to check up on the performances of their teams in the polls and there were a number of surprises on the cards, as it was Orlando Pirates who emerged as the front runners. Pirates replace Mamelodi Sundowns who had been relegated down the order forth position and were in a fight for Charity Cup survival with Black Leopards.
The hours leading up to the closing of the lines have seen some of the most frantic voting on record in the competition, as Orlando Pirates amassed 46 695 votes in a single day as they went from having had a 157 231 to finishing off with 203 936 when the Charity Cup website was closed off was on Tuesday evening.
Chiefs, in the mean time have been able to consolidate their position and a looking strong to qualify as they near the 200 000 vote mark when the media viewing took place on Wednesday afternoon. Chiefs were quite a way behind first place Orlando Pirates, but were not far off from second placed Bloemfontein Celtic while Sundowns were more than 12 000 votes behind them.

With only 2 ½ days to go there are sure to be more tumultuous times ahead in the Telkom Charity Cup race. Chiefs will be hopeful of getting their 20th run out in the tournament on the 5th August at the FNB Stadium. Vote lines close at midnight this Friday 28th July and the four participants will be made known at a press conference to be held in Johannesburg on Monday morning.
