The 21-year old answered his critics with a brilliant performance in 4-0 drubbing of Ajax Cape Town at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
“Bullet” as Masango is known in football circles was in sublime form on the afternoon but it was his trickery that created Siphiwe Tshabalala’s second goal that demonstrated his obvious quality that persuaded the Club to sign him as an eighteen year-old back in winter 2007.
Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com about the player said, “I believe in Mandla. He is still a young player. Young players need to play to make mistakes. He is a bright prospect for the Club and we are behind him,”
“He did well on the day and after he created the goal for (Siphiwe) Tshabalala you could see that he was not happy with the treatment from some section of the fans. We were satisfied with his contribution on the day,” he said.
The Serbian also praised the whole team for the wonderful performance, “It was not our best performance this season but we did well to put 4 past Ajax Cape Town. I do not think they played to their usual level on the day and made things a little bit easier for us. I would like to congratulate the players for such a wonderful performance,”
“I said after our defeat at Loftus (against Mamelodi Sundowns) the title now is not in our hands. Our focus now is on our game against AmaZulu in two weeks time. The most important thing for us at this stage is to continue winning,” added Vermezovic.
