The Glamour Boys, who are now in the fourth week of their preparation for the new season, spent two weeks at HPC before spending a week at the village. “I am pleased with how things have turned out since we reported to training,” he said, speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning.
“The first three weeks were crucial but this fourth week in our pre-season will be even more difficult. We also hope to compete in the upcoming Telkom Charity Cup, which will give us a picture of where we are with our preparations.”
In Namibia on Saturday, Vermezovic had a chance to use 25 players out of the 29 players that travelled with the team. “I thank the organisers of the tournament for allowing us to make as many changes as we could. I was pleased with the performances and the game was very competitive -- as at one stage tackles were flying. I am glad we got the result but the most important thing for us is for the team to continue with the preparations,” said Vermezovic.
“The trip was also good for the Club in terms of connecting with the huge support base we have that side. The players were ambassadors on and off the field. It was also a good trip from a cultural point of view. The players were also exposed to different tactics and players, who offer different attributes,” added Vermezovic.
