Vladimir Vermezovic has paid a glowing tribute to Club’s duo goalkeeper, Arthur Bartman and defender, Dominic Isaacs who won Telkom Knockout Goalkeeper and Defender of the Tournament respectively during the awards ceremony held in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The two players were the reason behind the Club only conceding a single goal during the 90 minutes of play throughout the tournament. Dominic Isaacs was solid at the back while Arthur Bartman was uncompromising in between the sticks.

“There is no doubt that both players deserve the awards. Arthur Bartman showed from day one that he is a good professional and helped us a great deal during the absence of Itumeleng Khune who got injured early in the season. As for Dominic he worked very hard to force his way back in the team after he had been slowed by the injury…I would like to congratulate both players for their achievement,” said a visibly pleased Vermezovic.

The Player of the Tournament will be announced during the PSL awards ceremony in May, “Maybe Mandla Masango will win that one,” said Vermezovic jokingly. The Nominees from Kaizer Chiefs for this award are Mandla Masango and Arthur Bartman.

Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com said that he and his team will be going out next season to defend the cup, “We are hoping to do much better than we did this season. Our priority is the league but we will be hoping to defend the Telkom KO and also do well in all the competitions next season. The work for us in preparations for the next season has already started,” he added.
