The Glamour Boys were back in action on Saturday after almost three weeks break but could not break a solid Santos defence.
“I did mention before the game that the game against Santos is going to be a tough one for us. It was a difficult game. Highly tactical,” said Vermezovic.
“Santos made it difficult for us to defend against their tall striker who is probably 20cm taller than our defenders.
(Eleazar) Rogers is an excellent player and showed it tonight. I would like to congratulate both sets of players for the wonderful game.
We started well creating few chances in the opening minutes of the game. Santos came back strongly in the second half. I am satisfied with the point out of this game.
“The season is a long one. I was looking at the fixture the other day. We are playing our next game here (Peter Mokaba Stadium) against SuperSport United, which is an away game for us. We then play Mamelodi Sundowns away. This means that in May we will play the two top sides at home and this is very interesting for us.
There are still tough games to be played and we need to keep in touch with the leaders,” added Vermezovic.
Chiefs are now third on the log behind Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United.
Meanwhile VV revealed that injuries to both Tinashe Nengomasha and Bernard Parker ‘are not serious’ and expects the players to be available for the game against SuperSport United on Wednesday, 30 November 2011.
