Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic believes that the victory over Cape Town All Stars on Saturday evening was more ‘psychological’ than ‘physical’.

The Amakhosi registered a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Vodacom based, Cape Town All Stars at Soccer City Complex with goals from Lucky ‘Sheriff’ Baloyi and substitutes, Lehlohonolo ‘Wagga’ Majoro and Lucky ‘KAKA’ Khune.

It was the first time for the Glamour Boys to keep a clean sheet against minnows in the competition since the last time against Batau FC back in 2005. Chiefs had lost three and won two against the teams from the lower divisions in the past five games.

Vladimir Vermezovic understood this; “In the past three seasons we were eliminated by teams from the lower divisions and this victory today was more psychological more than anything else. I would like to congratulate my colleague (Desmond Crowie) for his approach into the game. We knew that they like to play and did not come here to park the bus in front of their goal line. I would like to wish them all the best in their endeavours,”

“I am delighted that we are through to the next round. This is an important stand for the Club. We will now switch our focus to the league campaign. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my players for the way they applied themselves in the game.

The Serbian also explained Tinashe Nengomasha’s absence; “I felt that Tinashe Nengomasha was very tired having travelled from Burudi where they were playing on Wednesday evening. I was however pleased with the performance of Lucky Baloyi and Willard Katsande in the heart of the midfield. Jimmy Tau also made a comeback and did well.

The Glamour Boys will now welcome Ajax Cape Town at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane on Wednesday, 14 March 2012. Tickets for the league encounter are already on sale at Computicket including Shoprite/Checkers nationwide.
