Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic heaped praise on his charges following a 2-1 win against Platinum Stars at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys returned to their winning ways thanks to first half goals from on form, Lehlohonolo ‘Wagga-Wagga’ Majoro and Abia ‘Mkhutuzi’ Nale.

“It was important that we bounce back following our defeat against Black Leopards on Tuesday. We played against a team that has improved a lot in the past couple of weeks and it is a massive victory for us and credit should go to the players for doing well out there.

It is never easy to come here and win and we are delighted with the three points,” said the visibly delighted Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the game.

The Serbian reshuffled his defence for the game against Platinum Stars with Tefu Mashamaite replacing Lincoln Zvasiya in the heart of defence; “Tefu had not played for quite a well and came in and did very well for us. It shows that we have quality in the team and everyone is always ready to do business when they are called to do so.

Chiefs is fourth on the log with 40 points after 23 games, a game less to leaders, Orlando Pirates and the Vermezovic has called for more consistency from his players.

“It is very difficult to understand why we do not seem to apply ourselves consistently in each and every game. We prepare for all games the same and I feel we need to be more consistent. This is something that I am addressing with the players,” added Vermezovic.

Chiefs turn their focus this week to Nedbank Cup quarterfinals against Free State Stars in Polokwane on Saturday, 14 April 2012.

Kick off for that game is at 20:15.
