Lincoln Zvasiya who has earned himself a nickname ‘Harare’ from kaizerchiefs.com has revealed that the mood in the camp is high since the team reported back to training last Monday.
Zvasiya a product of Aces Academy in Zimbabwe made a sensational debut in an emphatic win against Mamelodi Sundowns and scored a winner in his second appearance in the gold and back as Chiefs pushed aside Free State Stars in December.
“I still cannot believe that I scored that goal but now that is all in the past. The most important thing now is Jomo Cosmos our next game,” said the soft-spoken defender on Thursday afternoon.
He used the festive break to catch up with his family.
“I went home and spent time with my family so when I came back my batteries were recharged and I was fired up to start training. It is good to be back.
The Coach has been pushing us very hard at training and it has been tough at times. The mood in the camp remains high and we are all excited to be back at work.
“We are all professionals though and we understand that we have to work hard. I am not the one to shy away from hard work. I know that it was through hard work that I am here at Chiefs and it is going to take hard work for us to meet our objectives this season.
Chiefs play their first game against Jomo Cosmos at Nelson Monday Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on the 15th February and welcome Moroka Swallows at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 18th February 2012.
“We will be taking it one game at a time. Jomo Cosmos will be tough away the same as Soweto derby when we meet Swallows at FNB.
It is important that we collect three points in our first game before we can start thinking about the derby,” added Zvasiya.
