The gold and black faithful will on Saturday, 27 July 2013 once again get a rare opportunity to watch a team they have put together to face rivals, Orlando Pirates in the 3rd edition of Carling Black Label at FNB Stadium, kickoff is at 15h30.
With hundreds of fans coming through to the Village on Friday afternoon kaizerchiefs.com had a round table discussion with three supporters, Wanda Jack (39) from Uitenhage Branch, Mildred Mdukiswa (30) from Site C Branch, Western Cape and Fuzile Kilani (47) from Port Elizabeth Branch.
The starting line-up announced on Wednesday will feature Bernard Parker, Josta Dladla and Eric Mathoho who missed the Gauteng Cup last weekend.
“It is a very good team that we have picked to face Orlando Pirates and I have no doubt that the Black Label Cup will be locked in what is an overflowing trophy cabinet at Naturena,” said a visibly confident Wanda Jack.
Kilani echoed Jack’s sentiments; “The team is highly motivated going to this game and we are behind the eleven players that will take the field tomorrow including the Technical Team. I watched the team against Celtic and they looked sharp at this stage of the season.
Mdukiswa added that; “I was here last year when we narrowly lost the game after taking a lead early in the game. This year there will be no repeat of what happened in 2012.
The fans will have an opportunity in this year’s edition to make a change by voting one of the players on the bench as Kilani revealed; “We have a healthy bench with the likes of Morgan Gould, Keegan Ritchie, Kingston Nkhatha including the ‘Smiling Assassin’, Knowledge Musona who is coming back to haunt the Ghosts.
“The Carling Black Label gives us a unique opportunity as fans to be involved in terms of who is playing. However as a supporter, I support every player that the Coach chooses to represent us; I am Khosi 4 Life,” chipped in Mdukiswa.
Jack concluded; “I would like to wish the team all the best on Saturday and during 2013/2014 season. We have no doubt that the boys are going to make us proud.
The supporters who came through to the Village had an opportunity to be welcomed by the Club’s Executive Chairman who once more expressed his gratitude for the way the fans rallied behind the team last season urging them to show the same support in the upcoming season.
