“The supporters pay a lot of money to come to the games. We want to give them something to smile about,” said Morgan Gould following the Last 8 TKO draw this afternoon.
Chiefs played Platinum Stars three times in the Absa Premiership league and MTN 8 back to back in August.
“We are playing against Platinum Stars again. It is always a tough game when we play against Stars. It's like a derby match. We just need to do our job.”
Chiefs beat Platinum Stars in all three back to back games this season, and Gould expressed happiness with the draw. He comments, “We are very happy for the draw. Stars are the defending champions and have earned their stripes. It's very important to win games at all times. For us to be in this winning mode we had to work hard and will continue doing that.”
He added, “Stars will come to us looking at rectifying their mistakes. They will watch the videos and come to us with more information than in the previous games. We will be ready to fight and defend our territory as we will be playing at home.”
“The mood in the camp is very high. We are working hard to achieve things this season. I am just happy for the team as a whole, we are doing so well and we plan to keep it up,” he said.
Chiefs and Platinum Stars will battle it out for the passage to the Last 8 during the weekend of 25-26 October 2014. The dates and venues will be confirmed in due course.
